I will choose to linger in cold and lifeless fingers like echoes in the morgue.
It was cold then like an unrelenting late-February headwind on a long walk home from a place you never should've been.
Madness crept in as quiet as a cheating lover's breath is when he whispers of his sin and how it's book-ended by loneliness and lack of self control and conscience.
You pulled the sheet from a cold, blue body down below my waist to a place of rest beneath my knees. And you unleashed an unrelenting venting of this dark carnal disease.
