In Her Eyes 04:02
Like a death row inmate ignores the swing of a trap door underneath, she ignored the words her father screamed. She took them with a grain of salt like a snail melting on the street. And the thing about a common sense dream is you can always count on it to destroy the gleam. You know you'll never miss it til it's all gone away. If not here where? If not here where? ...In her eyes Like a matron on a movie screen her blonde head blinded me. And I ignored the things my father seemed to have bled into me, when I looked all I could see was a future in grass so green. And the thing about a common sense dream is you can always count on it to destroy the gleam. You know you'll never miss it til it's all gone away. If not here where? If not here where? ...In her eyes

She took the dog for a long walk Left her phone at the end of their block She said goodbye to the fencepost She said goodbye to the fencepost "You're the one I'll miss the most, little scarecrow. Little Scarecrow." Her only dime to the bus man What a way to runaway...busted She told a lie to her mom's ghost She told a lie to her mom's ghost... "You're the one I'll miss the most, little scarecrow. Little Scarecrow." Wait for me Wait for me I pray thee I pray thee "Tiger by the tail like I'm immune to nail and teeth But God what if I fail and death's the first person I meet I'll paint that city red and let it spread like smoke and fire Or choke on just a thread, my head found face down in The mire" "Tiger by the tail like I'm immune to nail and teeth But God what if I fail and death's the first person I meet Oh God." He and the bar had a long talk Slept on the floor by the grandfather clock A flight of stairs to an empty chair A flight of stairs to an empty chair See the bird escaped it's host Little sparrow Little sparrow Up to the room where she'd been born Not a thing broken, missing, torn Everything in its own space A vacancy just can't erase "You're the one I miss the most, little sparrow. Little Sparrow." Out to the porch where she used to love Count the scars in the sky above His voice returns him a new ghost "You're the one I miss the most, little sparrow. Little Sparrow."

Blue 05:21
I will never die. Leastwise in your mind. Footsteps on the floor... I will choose to linger in cold and lifeless fingers like echoes in the morgue. It was cold then like an unrelenting late-February headwind on a long walk home from a place you never should've been. Madness crept in as quiet as a cheating lover's breath is when he whispers of his sin and how it's book-ended by loneliness and lack of self control and conscience. You pulled the sheet from a cold, blue body down below my waist to a place of rest beneath my knees. And you unleashed an unrelenting venting of this dark carnal disease. Blue Blue I will never die. Leastwise in your mind. Footsteps on the floor. Her warm skin is smothering like a brush fire Californian forest. Pour your soul into it: a mere drop in the bucket against the miles of flames. She shines so bright. It's hard to sleep with a girl like that in bed at night. When the morning comes and the sun dries open sand paper eyes the day doesn't realize. When the night fades out it marks the end of the part of the world you care about and the day is a place full of staring faces bearing down on the core of your very ora. Blue Blue Blue Blue You stroll in and out of my soul. I'd be lying if i said i was wholly ready to face this world alone. I search for your face in the space between their dying day and the grave. I search for your face in the space between their dying day and the grave. Night fades out and marks the end of the part of the world you care about. The day is a place full of staring faces bearing down on the core of your very ora. Blue Blue

Rattlesnake 04:57
Damn, in a flash I needed to smash Dove in the dirt like and in-field catch. But I got away safely. Thought I left an impression She aint talked to me lately. Anyway, always a longer story Especially when you got less guts than glory. Nobody listens to a song that's boring. But we'd still be proud to be the sound you're ignoring. And it's gonna get gory when we go for it So let your kisses happen inside the slower shit. I can't get enough of this. So let yourself be a little more devious. If hell burns like that I'll take it If she made it Goodness gracious If the devil don't know good she's Satan. But she's kinda cute that way. I don't know what to say, hey! Baby when you're shakin' and you're movin' on the ground I'm a rattlesnake baby, let me take you underground. I want you to listen, get familiar with the sound. I'm a rattlesnake baby, never kiss me on the mouth. You don't wanna taste this venom right here. Make you're eyes go blind, Make the desert disappear. Shed my skin and you can shed you're fear. Let me know when the coast is clear. I can hear you shakin' when you're movin' on the ground. I'm a rattlesnake baby, rattlesnake baby. Somethin' burnin' in the house. Her eyes are on fire, She's been lightin' it up to put it out. And I don't know what she's talkin' about, But the smile that she wears makes it hot Like we're in the deep south. She can't remember my name Cuz at a house party everybody could be the same. But in the darkness she lights up inside a picture frame. Snaps her fingers, body into flame. She could make a livin' on the raw shit, for ya know it she could jump and a sucker gets his jaw bit. She makes me feel like a misfit. She told me "get a damn grip kid." If hell burns like that I'll take it If she made it Goodness gracious If the devil don't know good she's Satan.

Winds 03:08
Blow, winds blow. We've got sails to show. Blow, winds blow. We've got sails to show. Ahh, summertime summertime summertime comes and goes. Ahh, summertime summertime summertime comes and goes. If I'm fallin on my fingertips, If I'm losing treasure stash in all my tips. If I'm fallin on my finger tips... Blow, winds blow. We've got sails to show. I've gotta shut mysel off. I was picking at the mind of the radio, Filling me with sound histeria. Fingers perched like branches Gripping for my sin. Your arms become my garden. Blow, winds blow. We've got sails to show. Blow, winds blow. We've got sails to show. I've gotta shut myself off. Erasing my fingernails I'm practicing piano. Cast these sails into the sea. And now this lonely spider's got but seven legs. Peace be with you, Chew that sand between your teeth.

Better 03:24
You could have the corner office on every corner. You can know your rights and protect them. We want to work for you... So what? Life doesn't come with gaurantees. Take anything you want. It's a peace-of-mind to last you a lifetime. A place where anything would be perfect. Feel better, Do better, Work better. So what? Tonight you shudder in your sleep to petrify this on the screen. Best deny it while you may inside the ballet of the dream. Spare me my life! Spare me my life! Spare me my life! Take anything you want.

Look into the shallow waves. You can see the bottom but you jumped in anyway. Why dive in? Did you see the end? Was it just as good as new? You're burning your bridges, man. Your're not even half way across. What do you say for yourself now that it's too late to go back? They say it's never to late to start this over. But you've got your back turned Measure the weight of your options and carry on accordingly. Makes sense. Why then do you find yourself falling further back, a step behind your goals? Check the vision in your head. There's a glitch somewhere. Have you given up? Or are you just blind? Who knows... You're burning your bridges, man. Your're not even half way across. What do you say for yourself now that it's too late to go back? They say it's never to late to start this over. But you've got your back turned This is the consequence of foresight.

about

Nick Rapley Brooklyn, New York

Musician and artist. All aspects of my work are manipulated by no hands other than my own: conception, creation, production. I thrive on the unknown. I don't plan, plot, or scheme any of my works. I merely begin. The only limitations set before me are those of my abilities. This process affords me the luxury to reflect upon my subconscious and learn about myself. Music and art breed growth in life ... more
